Last few weeks have been the busiest in a while due to the ongoing "high visibility" project that finally went live on 5th August. Fingers crossed on the pilot trades that may happen anytime now!
6th August
I worked from home today as I was feeling quite under the weather which could partly be due to lack of sleep from previous day. It was a rather weird day. I felt bulkier - I blame the Nandos Butterfly Chicken with 2 regular sides which was eaten in the late hours of the evening - totally sinful to say the least, yet I ate so much throughout the day.
Towards the evening I realised I am not going to get any of the GMAT done because I was too distracted so I watched some news again! I found this really fiery speech by Ladakh MP - Jamyang who was speaking on behalf of the people expressing gratitude for finally separating Ladakh from J&K and giving Ladakh its much deserved UT status. He spoke with his heart and his speech was engaging (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJCfdQ4T4oY).
I googled more about him and it turned out he is just 34 - what am I doing with my life?
5th August (The Go Live Day)
I had to go to work earlier than usual (7:30 am) so that I am on the ground to assist in case there are any issues. I did get around to completing some admin work and mandatory trainings that I had been postponing for a few days in the quiet morning.
Rest of the day was relaxed at work and I was excited to go home early and get some of my personal work done. I reached home at 4:30 and slept off for 4 hours straight which only meant that I would be awake until super late in the night writing a GMAT mock - basically giving myself a reality check that I still need to work hard at it. I could barely wake up the next day which explains the work from home.
The highlight of the Go Live day was the unexpected news from Jammu and Kashmir. I guess there are some Go Lives that don't go as quiet as my morning did! Everyone was talking about it and I mostly heard praises on the topic. Ironically I had so much to learn about the State of J&K on it's last day! Article 370 and 35A and their implications; the local J&K politicians and their supposed rule; how big Ladakh was; the Amar Nath Yatra that would get over 2 lakh pilgrims each year during the only 2 months of July and August when the case is accessible - thats a lot of unique things about my country that I should have known about better!
4th August (Recovery Sunday!)
Nothing much to say really! There was Sunday that went by nursing hangover and also guess who sent me a message out of the blue. I got a meaningful message from my Ex on a group called "Meenu's Bday" because there is no other way blocked people can reach out! He removed everyone from the group before messaging me and appeared matured in his conversation so I replied in a similar manner. It is good to let go of the burden of being annoyed with someone for so long. He is still blocked and I have no current intentions of developing any closer association with him other than meme exchanges which are hilarious.
3rd August (sinful-yet-delightful Saturday)
We ditched Squash today and instead played Badminton at Kerrisdale. I was catching breath every half a game. Vaibhav and Ankur are so good at it and they have crazy stamina! I lost 300 grams in less than an hour playing the game but that was all quickly gained back by the sinful-yet-delightful Rajma-Chawal-Raita-Papad meal prepared by the Kerrisdale gang - arent they the best!
Lunch was accompanied by the movie "In the heart of the Sea" that has the sinful-yet-delightful Chris Hemsworth. He is single and I know it ;)
In the evening I joined Sasha, Sudha and Aankita for dinner and then later chilled at Serangoon playing the sinful-yet-delightful Cards Against Humanity (which I won!) while smoking Sheesha #GoodLife
Clock struck midnight but we (Surana and me) are not done yet. We took shots and joined Sruthi and gang for her bday party. Rest is blurry, slurry and we ended up in the morning at Prata wali gali!
I can crack worse jokes so if you are reading don't give up on me as yet - you will get more chances later.
2nd August
Long days at work suck and they suck even more when there are unexpected! The day ended better than expected though. I caught up with a friend after a really long time at the NUS Guild House. Guild house is a member's only place with amazing live music, high spirited older crowd and discounted drinks (which explains the high spirits)!
It was a refreshing banter over dinner with Suhail - we connected on our "introverted-ness", on some past whatsapp group Shenanigans and ended the night with the much overdue Tiramisu after which I walked the #PartyAnimal to Magic Carpet and myself went back home like a nice girl! Blimey!
1st August (No Life Thursday)
work work work work work work!
31st July (Hump Day)
Usual day at work but then Manager gave me a rather sweet news of a potential move to London. I dont see any immediate issues with the movie but if it has to happen will be in the next 3-6 months. This left me with a lot of mixed feeling - Singapore has been home for a decade and it wont be easy to leave this place and the people. Definitely deserves a post of its own!
Also apparently Wednesdays are called Hump Days because its midweek and you are just about reaching the hump to slide down towards the weekend #AajKaMillenialMantra Blimey!
30th July (No Life Tuesday)

29th July (Exhausted by the time I got to writing anything)
